Because of issues such as abuse and neglect, each day more than 1,200 youth run away from home and find themselves homeless. Since 1973, Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children has provided abused, neglected and homeless youth ages 13-21 with housing, a stable environment, and supportive services. Proceeds from Run for Runaways will benefit Somerset Home’s Arts and Recreation program.
For more information or to register, please visitwww.runforrunaways.com. Advance registration fees are: 5K Race, $25 ($20 for USATF members); 2-mile walk, $12; kids’ sprints, $10. After October 31, registration is $30 for runners, $15 for walkers and $10 for kids’ sprints.
