In a move planned weeks ahead of , Old Somerset Road resident Tiffany Brigante was sworn in to the board at Tuesday's meeting. Brigante is familiar to many in the district: she has been active in the PTO, serving as corresponding secretary, and has two children in the Watchung schools. Brigante is the owner of TANA Home, a drapery and upholstery workshop in Plainfield, and has a background in finance. A graduate of Penn State, with a bachelor's in communication, Brigante worked on Wall Street for equity firms and hedge funds until 2000, when she launched her business. She said she hopes to be assigned to the board's finance committee because of her background. "That's where my strength lies," she said, after her appointment. "It really pleases me to be able to dedicate my time and work experience in creating a fulfilling environment for the children, as well as our community," Brigante said in her first opportunity for comments in the meeting.
