Description:
I am running for Borough Council to make Watchung a better place to live and work by improving transparency in local government, stabilizing property taxes, increasing access to public transportation, revitalizing downtown Watchung, maintaining our parks and public spaces, and investing in Watchungās future prosperity. I am a life long resident of New Jersey who attended public schools from elementary school through Rutgers University in New Brunswick and Rutgers Law School in Newark. I understand the value of investing in our local community. I have always been passionate about public service and as a resident of Watchung, I am troubled by our local leaders' recent decisions to close the Watchung library, to approve a large apartment complex development on Bonnie Burn Road, and my adversaries refusal to debate me and my running mates, Daryl Eisenberg Knegten and Keith Balla prior to the election on November 6th.

I work as a Senior Associate at Wood Smith Henning & Berman, LLP, a law firm in Berkeley Heights. If elected, I will use my skills as a litigator to advocate for the residents of Watchung and will relentlessly work to achieve the change needed to make our community a better place to live and work.
Transparency in Local Government
I believe in a transparent and responsive Borough Council, one that listens and communicates with its residents. This would be accomplished by posting Council meeting business, agendas, and the full text of resolutions before resolutions are voted upon. In addition, if elected, I would support live streaming Council Meetings online to keep residents informed on the issues that impact our community, hold community forums, and encourage residents to attend and voice their concerns at Council Meetings.
Taxes
I am in favor of stabilizing our property taxes and ensuring that municipal budgets are fiscally responsible. Each residentās hard earned tax dollars should spent efficiently. Municipal budget will be closely scrutinized. I recognize that investing in Watchung is an investment in our property values and our town's future prosperity and success.
Commuter Access
I am in favor of making Watchung a commuter-friendly town by bringing back the Park and Ride, and exploring options for access to train stations in surrounding communities. Watchung residents have been without a Park and Ride for over a year and we have no train station. I believe that increasing accessibility to New York City via mass transportation is especially important for our home values and to attract prospective home buyers.
Library
I am in favor of Watchung having its own library. I was troubled by the Councilās recent vote to close the Watchung library without putting a plan in place to replace it. I am committed to a fair and transparent process involving all the residents of Watchung to determine how this should be accomplished.
