Watchung Considers Plan to Fix Roads

Projects will address drainage issue on several streets.

The Watchung Borough Council unanimously introduced an ordinance authorizing $430,000 in bonds to beginĀ repairs to three roads at its meeting last week.

The projects will include Hill Hollow, Glen Eagle Drive and Johnston Drive, addressing surface and drainage problems, and if aproved after a July 19 public hearing, will allow the borough to borrow $430,000 for the work.

In May, the council approved the plansĀ to address the drainage problems onĀ Glen Eagle DriveĀ caused by underground springs near Washington Rock Park. The project is budgeted at $50,000.
