Watchung Hills Boys Tennis Off to a Great Start With Addition of Frosh Gavornik
Freshman brings strong family history of tennis greats
Freshman Tim Gavornik has big shoes to fill and has been doing a good job at it this season. The only freshman on the Warrior squad, Gavornik follows three sisters to the courts for .
"Tim comes from a very tennis rich family. His three sisters were county and state single champions when they played at Watchung Hills," said coach Chris Gibson. "His father is a tennis coach who trains players at a very high level. Tim is kind of like Somerset County tennis royalty."
Gavornik, of Long Hill, is a year-round player and runs on the cross county team in the fall. Tim plays tournament tennis and USTA events throughout the year. "It is nice to get an experienced freshman in a singles spot," added Gibson.

Gavornik is 7-1 having lost his first match of the season, winning six straight and losing Monday. The Watchung Hills Warriors are off to a great start at 6-2, but losing Monday to Bridgewater, 3-2.
