Watchung Police Charge Plainfield Man with DWI

Watchung police charged Kevin Laughton, 32, of Plainfield, with driving while intoxicated after finding him asleep at the wheel in the Blue Star Shopping Center parking lot.

Laughton's vehicle was stopped at a stop sign near the entrance to the Arby's restaurant. When police woke him, he began to drive forward but struck a patrol car in front of his vehicle.

After failing field sobriety tests, he was charged with DWI and reckless driving, and taken into custody. Laughton was then released in the custody of a friend.
