Weekend Car Crash Leaves One Fatality In Somerset County
A fatal car crash took the life of a 34-year-old Pennsylvania woman on Saturday when the vehicle spun out of control on Route 22 West.

A fatal car crash took the life of a 34-year-old Pennsylvania woman on Saturday when the vehicle spun out of control on Route 22 West near Adamsville Road in Bridgewater.
The driver, John Gerwer III, 30, of Somerville lost control of his 2003 Ford Mustang while changing lanes and struck a utility pole in front of the America’s Best Value Inn.
He was ejected out of the vehicle.

Gerwer was transported to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with serious injuries while his passenger, Candince Gerwer, 34, of Bethlehem, Pa. was transported to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset where she was pronounced dead.
Bridgewater Police received help on scene from New Jersey State Police, Green Knoll Fire Department, North Branch Fire Department, Somerset Rescue Squad Unit 802, and Paramedic Squads 681 & 682.
