WATCHUNG/GREEN BROOK, NJ — Watchung and Green Brook public schools ranked fairly high on a controversial new grading scale released by the state recently. The new ratings were established to comply with the federal Every Student Succeeds Act, which replaced the controversial No Child Left Behind Act. Based on the reports, it appears that schools that finished with at least a 50 score could be considered average, falling within the 50th percentile. Anything above 70 appeared to be around the top 20 percent. Watchung and Green Brook schools, received the following scores: <ul><li>304. Watchung Hills Regional High School: 85.63</li><li>526. Bayberry Elementary School: 75.06</li><li>1129. Green Brook Middle School: 46.41</li><li>1183. Irene E. Feldkirchner Elementary School: 43.82</li><li>1497.
