  • Alvin Peter Kappelmann Jr., age 57

An insurance executive at Royal and SunAlliance, Kappelmann, 57, was at a business meeting in the World Trade Center when the Sept. 11 attacks occurred.

He was a member of the volunteer fire department in Green Brook since the age of 16, serving over 40 years as a fireman. During an interview with the New York Times, his daughters recalled a time when Kappelmann saw a home on fire while on vacation and went to help before the firemen had even arrived.

  • Christopher N. Ingrassia, age 28

A partner of Cantor Fitzgerald, Ingrassia, 28, was known for both his sense of humor and passion for sports.

He joined the Cantor Fitzerald right after graduation. He moved to their London office for four years before returning to New York City in Feb. of 2001, according to Legacy.

  • Honor Elizabeth Wainio age 27 – UA Flight 93

A district manager for the Discovery Store in both New York and New Jersey, Wainio, 27 was accustom to traveling all over the country for work.

Just a couple of days before her flight, United Airlines 93, was hijacked, Wainio had just come home from a trip to Europe where she fulfilled her life-long dream of visiting Paris, according to Legacy.
