1 New Coronavirus Death In Wayne; Latest Passaic County Numbers
The latest Passaic County coronavirus numbers were released on Tuesday, and the mayor reported one new coronavirus death in the township.
WAYNE, NJ — Mayor Christopher Vergano reported one new coronavirus death and two new positive test results among township residents on Tuesday.
In total, 187 Wayne residents have died from COVID-19 according to the Mayor's report, and 1,715 residents have tested positive, according to the New Jersey Department of Health.
The NJDOH also reports 6,214 negative test results of the 7,929 who have been tested. Over 21 percent of township residents who have received coronavirus tests have also received positive results, according to the NJDOH.

Though case numbers have leveled off in the township, area businesses, organizations and schools are still dealing with how to move forward.
William Paterson University said in-person learning will happen during the 2020 fall semester, but also announced that campus staff and faculty would take 12 furlough days throughout the year.

The township Board of Education will discuss their 2020-2021 return to school plan at a Thursday meeting, according to the agenda for said meeting.
Mobile testing continues throughout Passaic County, with new dates and locations announced on Tuesday.
