2 Dead, 1 Critically Injured After Sunday Shootings In Paterson: Officials
Officials said two 19-year-olds died and a 22-year-old woman is in critical condition, as they probe multiple shootings in the city.
PATERSON, NJ — Two 19-year-old men are dead and a 22-year-old woman is critically injured after three of shootings in the city of Paterson that began early Sunday morning, according to officials.
Officials have not released suspect information as of Monday afternoon, or identified the deceased parties. It is also not clear if the shootings are related, based on preliminary information released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson PD Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi.
A 42-year-old woman was also injured in one of the shootings, said officials.

The first shooting was reported at 6:36 a.m. on Oct. 1 near the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street, said a press release from Valdes' office. Officers arrived to find a 19-year-old from Paterson on the ground "with multiple gunshot wounds." Officials said that first responders transported him to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
A second fatal shooting was reported in the area of Highland Street and Park Place at 12:26 p.m., Valdes' office said. Officials found a 19-year-old male there with "an apparent gunshot wound," and first responders took him to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. A second victim, identified as a 42-year-old woman, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Officials said that later that day, at 9:22 p.m., a Paterson police officer heard several gunshots in the area of Van Houten Street and Cianci Street. Additional patrol units went to the scene and found a 22-year-old woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, officials said. She is in critical condition at St. Joseph's University Medical Center, officials said on Monday.
This investigation is active and ongoing, and officials are not releasing any further information at this time.
