2 Teens Injured In Shooting After Passaic Tech Football Game: Reports

Another teen was arrested following the shooting after the game between Passaic Tech and Lenape High School, reports said.

WAYNE, NJ — Two teens were injured Friday night in a shooting following a football game between Passaic County Technical Institute and Lenape High School, according to reports citing prosecutors and school officials. Another teen was also arrested in connection with the shooting.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. following the game at Passaic Tech's Reinhardt Road athletic field, the Bergen Record reported, citing the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. Deputies on site found a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old both suffering non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The teens were taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, according to the Record.

A 16-year-old was arrested following the shooting and charged with acts of juvenile delinquency, reports said.

In a statement provided to ABC7, Lenape High School officials said no students or staff were harmed in the shooting.

"We were informed there was gunfire and two individuals needed medical attention at the conclusion of a football game tonight in Wayne, NJ, and the suspect is in custody," the statement read. "Our thoughts are with the individuals harmed and the Passaic Technical Institute community."
