Wayne doesn't have elections for mayor or Township Council this year, so the school board race represents the biggest local matter in this election cycle.

The township will also cast votes for Congress. Some Wayne residents remain in New Jersey's 11th Congressional District, but redistricting has shifted part of the township into the 9th District. Here's New Jersey's new congressional map.

In the 11th District, Democratic incumbent Mikie Sherrill faces challenges from Republican Paul DeGroot and independent candidate Joseph Biasco. The 9th District election pits Democratic incumbent Bill Pascrell against Billy Prempeh (Republican), Sean Armstrong (Libertarian) and Lea Sherman (Socialist Workers Party).

Wayne will also vote for a Passaic County sheriff — a race in which Democratic incumbent Richard Berdnik faces Republican Mason J. Maher III. In the Passaic County Board of Commissioners election, incumbent Democrats Terry Duffy and Pat Lepore face Republican challengers Alex Cruz and Troy Oswald.
