Reel In A Big One At 2023 Wayne Fishing Derby In April

WAYNE, NJ — Join neighbors, friends, and family for the annual Wayne Parks and Recreation Fishing Derby, which is coming up April 22.

Prizes for kids are awarded for ages 5-7, 8-10, and 11-15. The adult category, comprising ages 16 and up, also has prizes.

The derby is open to Wayne residents only in these age categories: Kids aged 5-15, and adults 16 and up. Entrants must bring their rod and reel, and adults must have a fishing license valid in NJ. Bait will be supplied, and anglers may also bring their own favorite bait.

Parents may help young kids with baiting and reeling, but they may not fish for their children. Prizes will not be awarded for fish caught for kids by parents, said Wayne Parks and Rec.

• Time: 8-11 a.m.
• Location: North Cove Park, 100 PAL Drive.
• Fee (pre-registration required): $10 for kids, $20 for adults.
