2026 Pizza Olympics held in Wayne NJ

On January 30, 2026, Packanack Community Church (PCC) hosted its inaugural Pizza Olympics, a
family-friendly community event that brought together local residents, businesses, and pizza lovers for an evening of food, fun, and friendly competition. Held in Simmons Hall, the event welcomed attendees across four sessions, allowing participants to sample and vote on pizzas from ten local pizzerias.

Guests were invited to taste bite-sized samples from each participating pizzeria and cast votes for their top three favorites. The atmosphere was lively and inclusive, with families of all ages enjoying the experience while supporting a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit local community initiatives, aligning with the church’s mission of Putting God’s Love in Motion.

After votes were tallied, Frank’s Pizza in Lincoln Park - owned by Packanack resident Pasquale Oscar Gencarelli - was awarded first place, earning the championship plaque for the evening. Vinni’s Pizzarama secured second place, followed by Pizza One in third.

Due to the event’s positive response, PCC hopes to make the Pizza Olympics a tradition that continues to bring the community together for years to come.
