3rd Jewelry Store Robber Nabbed In Wayne, Police Say

WAYNE, NJ — A third suspect in a jewelry store robbery investigation has been apprehended, according to Wayne police.

On Wednesday, Wayne and Clifton police were working on an unrelated investigation when they spotted a suspect from the Massola Jewelers robbery from nearly a month ago.

Police approached the suspect, Corey J. Boyd, 28, of Paterson, when he tried to run away on foot, authorities said. Police caught up to Boyd and arrested him.

He was charged on an outstanding robbery warrant and taken to the Passaic County Jail Intake Hub to await court proceedings.

On June 16, Massola Jewelers in the Valley Ridge Shopping Center on Preakness Road was robbed by multiple people, police say. The robbery occurred roughly an hour after the store closed for the day.

One suspect was caught immediately, and another was caught days later.
