Ortiz walked in William Paterson University's graduation ceremony at the Izod Center. Ortiz was born with cerebral palsy. She came to New Jersey from the Dominican Republic when she was 15. She was never able to go to school in her native country. "I thought I would never be able to make it this far," Ortiz told the website.
