It's one of the nation's top-rated haunted houses and not for the faint of heart. The asylum shut down in 1952 because of intolerable living conditions and the disappearances of patients and staff, according to the business's website.
While Brighton Asylum doesn't have age restrictions, the attraction warns that it's not recommended for people with certain mental conditions — both physical and psychological. Any children who attend cannot be carried and must walk on their own. And there are no refunds if they don't make it through or even into the attractions.
