9-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured In Wayne DWI Crash: Police
The boy was in one of the five vehicles involved in a DWI crash on Ratzer Road near Alps Road Thursday night, police said.

WAYNE, NJ — A 9-year-old boy was critically injured during a five-vehicle crash involving a drunk Wayne driver on Ratzer Road Thursday night, police said.
Gina Damario-Aubin, 58, of Wayne, was driving a Mercedes GLK 350 east on Ratzer Road near the Alps Road intersection when it struck a Toyota Sienna from behind, pushing it into three other vehicles, said Lt. Daniel Daly of the Wayne Police Department Traffic Bureau.
A 9-year-old boy in the Sienna was critically injured and lost consciousness at the scene; the Sienna sustained "major damage," Daly said.

The Wayne First Aid Squad took the boy to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson.
Police said the boy was still in critical condition as of 3 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's and have not received notification that his status has changed significantly.

First responders administered first aid to other victims at the scene, and paramedics from St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital and Chilton Memorial Hospital responded as well, the lieutenant said.
The Mercedes left the roadway and stopped in a driveway.
Damario-Aubin showed "signs of impairment" at the scene, Daly said. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. She was also taken to St. Joseph's. Paramedics treated other victims at the scene, police said.
Police could not provide the total number of people involved in the crash, nor how many people were in the Toyota.
The Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash. Anyone with information about it should call the bureau at 973-633-3520.
