ALERT - Wayne Residents: You are Being Mislead About a BOE Parents Bill of Rights Policy!

Unfortunately, I find it necessary to bring to your attention an anticipated attempt that will be happening to get the Wayne Board of Education to adopt a questionable "Parental Bill of Right's policy in our district.

The proponents of this campaign will try to mislead you into believing that on July 14, 2026, the Kinnelon Board of Education adopted a "Parental Bill of Rights" policy substantially the same as the questionable policy passed by the Colts Neck Board of Education in November of last year.

I can tell you from personal knowledge that the policy passed in Colts Neck is currently being reviewed by the New Jersey Attorney General's office and the Division on Civil Rights for potential violation of the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and other New Jersey statutes.

Proof of this attempt to mislead you is evidenced by this social media post which has been circulating in an attempt to establish that false narrative.

The push behind this proposed policy is coming from national organizations who are attempting to extend their political and religious ideologies into our local affairs along with an organization called the New Jersey Family Policy Center which, despite their claims that they are trying to protect parents rights, is in fact an evangelical organization run by the Reverend Shawn Hyland.

These organizations have now set their sights on our Wayne School District.

Today, this post was placed on a Wayne New Jersey Facebook page called, "Wayne Moms!." Interestingly, because I have exposed the disinformation campaigns of these organizations in the past, I am blocked from even viewing this particular Facebook page.

I was involved in supporting the concerns of residents of Kinnelon when the Board attempted to adopt the Colts Neck policy so I am very familiar with the tactics being used.

I can assure you that based upon the pushback of residents in Kinnelon, and despite the allegations in the posts on social media, Kinnelon did not pass the Colts Neck policy. Instead, they listened to the concerns of their residents and passed an entirely different policy.

I have a copy of the Colts Neck policy and the one that was actually passed by Kinnelon Board of Education. They are as different as night and day even having two distinctly different names.

I have also created a red lined comparison of the two policies and a detailed analysis of each.

As residents of Wayne, you need to know the truth about the what powers are at work here and the lies you are being told.

The Wayne Board of Education must understand their obligation to our residents and take the time to completely investigate what is happening.

This is the only way they will be able to appropriately represent the interests of every resident and ensure the best possible education and educational environment is available for all students.
