PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County man was recently arrested after authorities determined he was the gunman behind a shooting incident, prosecutors say.
Kristian Gonzalez, 28, of Paterson, faces several charges following an investigation into a shooting that left someone injured.
On Wednesday, around 8:15 p.m., authorities were called to the area of Oak Street and Summer Street in Paterson on reports of a shooting.
Police were able to establish a potential crime scene in the area. Details on the victim(s) were not readily available, but the shooting was described as “non-fatal" by officials.
After a brief investigation, authorities determined that Gonzalez pulled the trigger. He was arrested without incident less than an hour after the shooting in Hawthorne.
Gonzalez now faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He also faces several drug and drug trafficking charges.
If convicted of all charges, Gonzalez could spend more than 50 years in prison. Gonzalez is currently being held by authorities while he awaits court proceedings.
