The following day, around 1:45 p.m., Woodland Park police were called just a short distance away from the initial accident to the intersection of McBride and Radcliff avenues.

Authorities found that a 40-year-old Woodland Park man who was crossing McBride Avenue from a carwash towards a gas station was hit by a car, police said.

Officials said the pedestrian entered the roadway in front of a vehicle stopped in the northbound right lane before continuing into the left northbound lane, where he was struck by a separate, approaching car.

The car involved was being driven by a 35-year-old Paterson woman who was headed northbound on McBride Avenue approaching the Radcliff Avenue intersection toward Lackawanna Avenue at the time of the crash.

First responders arrived at the scene and provided treatment to the pedestrian, who was alert and conscious. He was taken to a nearby hospital and was in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The investigation is being conducted by the Woodland Park Police Department with assistance from investigators from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office. It remains active and ongoing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information is asked to contact the Woodland Park Police Department at 973-345-8111.
