Authorities discovered that an 80-year-old crossing guard from Woodland Park and two children were hit by a car at a crosswalk, police said.

The crossing guard was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

The two children were also sent to the hospital and were in stable condition as of Tuesday morning, officials added.

The following day, a 40-year-old man was struck by another car while crossing the street just a few blocks away, according to a News12 New Jersey report.

Police shut down the area of McBride Avenue on Tuesday to investigate the collision, the report adds.

He was taken to the hospital, and police said he was in stable condition, according to the report.

One resident told the outlet, “We never had that much traffic like now," citing Woodland Park’s new Amazon warehouse as a reason for the uptick in traffic.
