Summer Watercolor Classes at Laurelwood Arboretum

This summer, Artist Donna Read will lead a nine-session watercolor class at Laurelwood Arboretum. Classes will be held on Wednesdays in July and August from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Knippenberg Center for Education, 725 Pines Lake Drive West in Wayne. The fee for members of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum is $300 and $350 for nonmembers. To register, please go to www.laurelwoodarbortum.org

Read is a professional watercolorist and instructor, known for her floral and landscape paintings. She often teaches at the American Woodcarving & Art School in Wayne.

“In this class we will be surrounded by nature and will paint florals, landscapes and whatever else the environment inspires us to create,” said Read. “Working with wet-in-wet watercolor technique, we will learn how to control the paint, glazing, color mixing and how to pull the view into the painting with an interesting composition.”
