Authorities found a 20-year-old man suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound and rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

An investigation revealed that a 16-year-old was responsible for the shooting, leading to the teen's arrest.

The shooter is charged with acts of juvenile delinquency that would constitute the crimes of aggravated assault, unlawful
possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, if the teenager were an adult.

Authorities did not disclose the alleged shooter's identity due to their status as a minor.

The matter has been referred to the Passaic County Family Court's Juvenile Part for further proceedings.

Anyone who may have additional information on the shooting is asked to contact the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office at 1-877-370-PCPO or tips@passaiccountynj.org.
