WAYNE, NJ — Beer runs may soon turn into book runs for some Wayne shoppers, because a nationwide bookstore will be taking over the space of a former liquor store.
Barnes & Noble announced it will be setting up shop at 1308 Route 23 in Wayne, formerly the space of Gary's Wine & Marketplace.
Gary's Wine & Marketplace closed in May, reopening as Wayne Buy Rite at 201 Berdan Avenue.
Details on the Barnes & Noble space are scarce, but the book giant's website confirms there will be a cafe within the store.
Barnes & Noble, founded in 1873, has become the largest retail bookseller in the United States, operating roughly 600 to 700 stores nationwide. In addition to an array of books, the store sells toys, games, music, and more.
Wayne's Barnes & Noble location is scheduled to open in November.
