The charges stem from an incident on Dec. 9, 2024. The victim reported to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit that on that day, she had been sexually assaulted while immobilized at a Paterson home.

An investigation, which entailed interviews with the victim, determined Banchon to be the perpetrator.

Following a jury trial, Banchon was convicted of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact.

Banchon faces a maximum of 35 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 11.
