PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County man was arrested recently following a string of car break-ins, according to authorities.
Antony Arlequin-Salcedo, 27, of Paterson, faces a slew of charges after being arrested in New York City for several car thefts.
Police say the investigation began in April after dozens of airbags were found to be stolen from cars throughout Paterson.
Following a lengthy investigation, Arlequin-Salcedo was charged with 23 counts of third-degree theft and 22 counts of third-degree burglary. Each third-degree offense is punishable by three to five years in state prison and a fine of up to $15,000, police say.
"This is a great example of our detectives doing exactly what we ask them to do – follow the evidence, identify the person responsible, and see the investigation through," said Officer in Charge Patrick Murray. "They did excellent work putting this case together and working with regional partners to bring this individual to justice."
