Local officials recently honored his extraordinary service, while he highlighted the quiet dedication and growing challenges facing Wayne's all-volunteer fire department and urged residents to recognize the commitment behind roughly 1,400–1,500 calls a year.
• Free mall parking is disappearing — at least 23 U.S. malls now charge for the best spots next to entrances and food courts. Would you pay? (moneywise.com) — If you shop at Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, be aware that 119 of the closest parking spots now cost up to $10.45 a day, part of a new "preferred parking" program.
