PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Police are searching for a man they say robbed a Passaic County laundromat at gunpoint, officials said.
On Thursday, just after 8:30 p.m., police were called to a Paterson laundromat near Haledon Avenue and North 4th Street on reports of a robbery.
Authorities learned that a man had entered the business with a rifle, demanding money from an employee who was closing up, police said.
The man took roughly $500 from the laundromat's register before running out, according to police.
No customers were in the laundromat at the time of the robbery, and no injuries were reported.
Authorities have not announced any arrests or suspects as of Friday afternoon.
The robbery is still under investigation, and anyone who may have information is asked to call the Paterson Police Department's Major Crimes Unit at 973-321-1120.
