PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Officials in Passaic County are asking residents to keep an eye out for a potentially aggressive fox in and around a local suburb after two people were attacked.
On Wednesday night, police in Little Falls received reports of an aggressive fox in the area of Turnberry Road.
Authorities said the fox came into contact with two people, one of whom required medical attention.
The police and the Clifton Animal Control were sweeping the area to find the animal and had no updates as of Friday morning.
Clifton Animal Control says residents should keep their pets inside and avoid feeding wildlife as the search progresses.
One individual on Nextdoor reported being one of the fox's victims.
"I was attacked by a fox on Tulip Crescent, Little Falls, around 9:30 tonight after parking my car. Thank God, my clothes protected me," the user posted Wednesday night. "The fox took my shoes and kept circling me, I kept swatting it with my handbag. A neighbor rescued me. Police say I am not the first. Walkers and dog owners beware."
