PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A police officer in Passaic County was arrested this week following an investigation into a bar fight, according to authorities.
Thomas Connors, age 39, a police sergeant in his hometown of West Milford, faces two charges of simple assault following an altercation in a bar last month, police said.
On Sept. 24, around 12:30 a.m., Connors, while off duty, physically assaulted two patrons at Jessie's Country Kettle in West Milford, prosecutors said.
Connors was arrested on Tuesday and slapped with two simple assault charges. If convicted of the disorderly persons offenses, Connors could spend up to six months in jail, according to prosecutors.
The West Milford Police Department was not immediately available for comment, and it is not clear if Connors is still employed there.
