Brother and sister, Mike Massola and Nicole Massola, both White Tiger Mixed Martial Arts students recently competed at the Grapplers Quest 2011 World Championships in Asbury Park, NJ on December 10th. This was the first time competing in a grappling tournament. They have always competed in Tae Kwon Do for many years achieving numerous 1st place wins. They recently started grappling and found another sport that they feel passionate about. It was only natural to have them start competing.
Mike Massola took home 1st place after submitting both his opponents within 20 seconds of each match. Nicole Massola took home 2nd, making it all the way to the finals. She had some tough matches and only lost by a few points. They continue to train at White Tiger Mixed Martial Arts here in Wayne and are in preparation for their next competition.
