A.P. Terhune Principal Named District Director Of Elementary Education
Donna Reichman started in the district in 2004 as a gifted and talented teacher.

Donna Reichman was appointed the next director of elementary education, district officials announced.
Reichman is principal of A.P. Terhune Elementary School. She started in the district as a a gifted and talented teacher in 2004. Most recently, she was an assistant principal at James Fallon, Pines Lake, and Theunis Dey elementary schools. She starts her new position in the fall, officials said.
“Mrs. Reichman has a passion for planning and delivering professional development training programs for our teachers to support new curriculum initiatives and develop new teachers,” Superintendent Mark Toback said in a statement. “She looks forward to identifying teacher leaders from our nine elementary elementary schools to participate in professional development opportunities based on interests, skill sets, and needs.”

Reichman has an appreciation of technology and how it can be used to enhance classroom lessons. She showcased a number of district technology projects, including the use of Google Classrooms, to increase students’ classroom engagement.
She visited the Google headquarters in New York City where she collaborated with the chief facilities coordinator to encourage collaboration between colleagues and encourage professional development.

Reichman developed the district-wide GATES model and was selected as a New Jersey Gifted Society Fellow.
Prior to working in Wayne she taught third, fourth, and fifth grade for 17 years at several North Jersey schools.
