Student Schedules, Teacher Names Available Soon For Upcoming Wayne Schools Year

WAYNE, NJ — Another school year will be here before we know it. Wayne Township Public Schools are reminding parents when schedules will be released, as they prepare to welcome students back in several weeks.

Wayne Township Schools have their first day of school on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

According to the district, student schedules and teacher names will be available online on Wednesday, Aug. 23 after 3 p.m., if parents and guardians have completed all required forms. A primary parent or guardian must log into OnCourseConnect and complete the annual registration and back-to-school form process, the district said.

Parents must complete the forms and acknowledge the 2023-2024 district policy forms before they can access class schedules and teacher information, the district said.

Here are some important dates on the Wayne Township Public Schools calendar for teachers and students.

Note: Certain dates in the spring may change based on the exact date of the June 2024 primary election; and the lunar calendar. These dates are marked with asterisks. Other dates are subject to change based on the number of emergency closings needed for weather.

2023

• Friday, Sept. 1: Full staff inservice day.
• Tuesday, Sept. 5: Full staff inservice day.
• Wednesday, Sept. 6: First day of school for students.
• Monday, Sept. 25: Yom Kippur - Schools closed.
• Tuesday, Nov. 7: Full staff inservice day - Students off.
• Thursday, Nov. 9 and Friday, Nov. 10: NJEA Convention - Schools closed.
• Wednesday, Nov. 22: Minimal day - Start of Thanksgiving break
• Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24: Thanksgiving - Schools closed.
• Friday, Dec. 22: Minimal day - Start of holiday recess.
• Monday, Dec. 25 through Friday, Dec. 29: Holiday recess - Schools closed.

2024

• Monday, Jan. 1: New Year’s Day - Schools closed.
• Monday, Jan. 15: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Schools closed.
• Wednesday, Feb. 7: Minimal day for all students; Staff inservice day in the afternoon only.
• Friday, Feb. 16: Winter recess - Minimal day.
• Monday, Feb. 19: Winter recess - Schools closed.
• Friday, March 29: Good Friday - Schools closed.
• Wednesday, April 3: Minimal day for all students; Staff inservice day in the afternoon only.
• * Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12: Spring recess - Schools closed (also includes date for Eid-al-Fitr) *
• Monday, May 27: Memorial Day - Schools closed.
• * Tuesday, June 4: Election Day - Schools closed *
• Tuesday, June 18: Minimal day for all students.
• Wednesday, June 19: Minimal day - last day for all students. High school graduation is scheduled for June 19 as well.
• Thursday, June 20: Staff inservice day - last day for all teachers.

An additional note from the school district on emergency closings: “There are four days built into the calendar for emergency closings. Should extra days be needed, they will be added to the calendar in this order: April 8, 9, 11, and 12. If these four days are not needed, schools may close in this order: May 24, May 28, May 23, and May 29.”
