Gubernatorial Candidate Agrees With Murphy's Hitler-Trump Comparison
'When he is right he is right,' Brennan said.

WAYNE, N.J. — One Democratic candidate for governor agrees with fellow Democrat Phil Murphy's comparison of President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.
Murphy made the comparison at a November speech he gave in Montclair.
“I have lived in Germany twice – once as a private citizen and once as the United States ambassador, and I’m a modest student of German history," Murphy said on Nov. 2o, speaking before a group of about 400 at a church in Montclair. "And I know what was being said about somebody else in the 1920s. And you could unfortunately drop in names from today into those observations from the 1920s, and the moves that have been made early on only aide and abet that argument."

Democratic candidate Bill Brennan agrees with Murphy's assessment of the 45th president.
"When he is right he is right," Brennan said. "Propaganda, scapegoating, undermining of legitimate media and a barrage of lies fueled Hitler's rise to power, sound familiar?"

Brennan said he "triple downs" on the comparison and thanked Murphy "for pointing this out."
Brennan is running for governor. The former Teaneck firefighter and Wayne resident launched a criminal ethics complaint against Governor Chris Christie regarding the "Bridgegate" lane-closure case.
The court gave permission for the suit to proceed, finding probable cause in Brennan's claims that Christie is potentially liable for the millions of dollars the case cost taxpayers.
