Car Crashes Into NJ Bookstore​ While Author Was There [Photos]

CLIFTON, NJ — An SUV crashed through the front window of a Barnes & Noble bookstore on Route 3 Thursday afternoon, according to an author who was working at the store when the crash occurred.

Jason Pinter, an author and publisher with Polis Books, was at the Clifton Commons Shopping Center where the store is when the crash occurred. He posted photos of the crash on Twitter. They show an SUV sitting partially inside the front of the store and the facade above it hanging down and severely damaged.

Pinter said the SUV crashed into the checkout section where clerks were working.

Clifton Police were at the store investigating the crash. Lt. Robert Bracken said two people received minor injuries.

"Sincerely hoping there weren’t any serious injuries. Car crashed right into cash register section where clerks were working. Gonna hug my family a little tighter tonight.

Holy sh*t: I was working at the B&N in Clifton, and a guy just drove his car through the storefront and crashed INTO the store. Thank god don’t seem to be any injuries. Car literally drove into the cash registers. Police on scene. pic.twitter.com/pGf1KqQxxK
