Cedar Crest Resident Phyllis Hassard Receives Leadership Award

Phyllis Hassard received the national Association of Medical Media’s (AMM) first Leadership Award on June 15. Hassard, a resident of Cedar Crest, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, was recognized for her steadfast advocacy, tireless communicating, and impactful leadership in advancing both the AMM and the professional medical media community.

Hassard, an inspiring pioneer for women in the workforce, became the first woman to sell advertising space in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2005, years after first joining the company as an executive assistant, she was finally promoted to vice president of industry relations. She has spent her career paving the way for women within what was traditionally a very male-dominated industry.

Phyllis looks forward to the next happy chapter of her life at Cedar Crest and also at her home overlooking Lake George. Her consulting work and remaining a very active member of the Association of Medical Media with her many friends in the medical industry are all mainstays of her future. She says that the maintenance-free community she calls home makes working possible. The community offers abundant amenities, hundreds of clubs and activities, on-site restaurants, a state-of-the-art medical center, an all-season pool and a fitness center.
