Cedar Crest Residents Participate in Group Exercise Day

Zumba, Cardio Circuit, Stretch-n-Tone, Yoga, and More!

Cedar Crest, an active continuing care adult community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, hosted a free Group Exercise Day on February 2. More than 60 residents participated in the fun event that included a variety of fitness classes such as Ageless Grace, Posture and Power, Zumba, Cardio Circuit, Balance, Stretch-n-Tone, and Yoga as well as free blood pressure readings, heart rate readings, healthy refreshments, and raffle prizes.

“Exercise is important for seniors,” said Cedar Crest Fitness Coordinator Jennifer Schweizer. “It bolsters the immune system and lowers the risk of heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and osteoporosis. Also, exercise significantly reduces depression and improves sleep as well as improves memory.”
