Cedar Crest Retirement Community Honors Veterans with Field of Honor Display
Displays 250 Full-Size American Flags to Honor Veterans and Soldiers
To pay tribute to fallen veterans, and the courageous men and women currently serving the country, the Cedar Crest retirement community has draped itself in red, white and blue. Approximately 250 full-size American Flags, on eight-foot poles, adorn the Cedar Crest’s 1,110-foot main roadway and Village Square Clubhouse Lawn. The flags will be on display from Memorial Day weekend to July 4.
The flags were purchased by Cedar Crest residents, staff and businesses in 2014 and 2015 to raise money for the non-profit organization Emmaus for Veterans and to create a Field of Honor display on campus.
“This beautiful and dramatic exhibition of American Flags is a wonderful way to honor our soldiers and remember those that died serving our nation,” said Lou Varella, executive director of Cedar Crest.
