Cedar Crest's "Wizard of Oz" Telethon Raises $154,685
The event was filled with live entertainment by residents, staff and performers.

The Good Witch, Bad Witch, Dorothy and Toto, and friends followed the yellow brick road to Cedar Crest, an Erickson Senior Living community in Pompton Plains, N.J., on March 31, for the "Wizard of Oz" Telethon. The telethon and month-long campaign benefitting the community's Resident Care Fund brought in $154,685 throughout March, with $21,000 raised on the telethon night.
Broadcast live on Cedar Crest television and YouTube, the magical event was filled with live entertainment by residents, staff and performers. The show included live commentary from staff dressed as Wizard of Oz characters, live music and dance, comedy skits, readings, virtual games,
raffles and prizes.
"There's no place like home at our vibrant community," said Resident Life Manager Amy Wagener. "Thank you to residents, staff, vendors, local businesses, and family members for their generosity and support of our Telethon and campaign."

Cedar Crest's Resident Care Fund provides support to residents who, despite careful planning, outlive their financial resources. The money donated to the fund allows for residents experiencing financial adversity to continue living at Cedar Crest, in their home, among their friends,
receiving the care that they need.
