The Jdroids are a student run group of 15, 7th to 11th grade students that design, program, and build a robot to compete in local, regional, state and even the World Championships in the US. They do all of this work in addition to our normal school work. This is not a school run program, this is a program run out of Maker Depot, a workerspace in Totowa, NJ, that the students do in their free time. The team is made up of students of the Wayne, NJ area.

In addition to designing and building a robot, based on that year's theme, the young people reach out to the community and teach other young people about FIRST and robotics. As a matter of fact in 2018-19 they conducted over 100 events to teach young people about robotics all over NJ. They have taught children from 5 years old to 16+ about building robots. These motivated young robotics enthusiasts worked hard to build a World Championship Robot that competed in Detroit from April 24 to 27. As a result of their hard work, they were nominated for one of 7 awards. The Jdroids were 1 of 160 teams from around the world competing to be crowned World Champions of the FIRST Robotics competition.
