Civilians Wrestle Gunman For Weapon, Wayne PD Nabs Him After Chase: Authorities
The suspect jumped out the window before an officer saw him at the train tracks toward Lincoln Park, police said.
WAYNE, NJ — Civilians successfully wrestled a gunman for his weapon after he pointed it at someone in a Wayne home, police said. But then Kenneth Marcano took officers on an early-morning chase, according to authorities.
Wayne police went to a home just after 1:30 a.m. April 10 in the Mountain View section of the township for a domestic-violence incident involving a firearm, police said. Marcano, 40, pointed the gun at someone during an argument, but others tackled him and took the weapon away, members of the household told police.
Officers Steve Martell and Michael Sweeney entered the home. But the victim told them Marcano jumped from a window to escape from police.
