Congressman Frelinghuysen Is Afraid To Face Constituents: Letter

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen has a lot to explain, says the chairman of the Wayne Democratic Club.

To the editor:

And so where does Wayne stand? With a congressman who is hiding behind closed doors and only accepting phone so called town meetings, Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen has a lot to explain. In one posting on Facebook, there was an actual photograph of him listed as a missing person. This is not funny.

The congressman was thrust upon Wayne a few years ago due to gerrymandering, which basically assures reelection to correctly aligned candidates. I have never seen the man or has he responded to my emails.

Many federal, state and county office holders have met with constituents and participated at rallies supporting no hate and no phobic anti religious views. They had no trouble seeing their supporters in person and condemning attacks against different religions and Jewish cemeteries.

This fear of facing constituents is going on across our nation.

People are afraid of losing their health care and women especially are put at risk with the defunding of Planned Parenthood. This is made worse by the silence of our leaders which is, in effect, latent approval.

As the president of the Wayne Democratic Club, our organization has no problem condemning hate in any form. Our nation needs to heal and we must face each other, in friendship, for it to happen.
