Coronavirus: 1 Preakness Resident Dies, 2 Return From Hospital
The healthcare center announced that a hospitalized resident died, but two other residents returned from the hospital.
WAYNE, NJ — Preakness Healthcare Center reports that one resident has died from the coronavirus after being hospitalized, while two others have returned from hospital stays in what has been a "few days of mixed emotions."
Another resident received a second negative test result and returned to their unit, according to a news release from the organization.
Test results from last week, as of the May 30 release are mostly still pending, but Preakness reports that resident tests that are available from May 26 are all negative, while one staff member tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the staff testing dates.

Since March 25, 109 residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, including 12 residents who have since tested negative twice, 22 residents who have died and one resident who was presumed positive, but was not tested before they died.
Four residents are currently hospitalized, according to Preakness, and 229 have tested negative.

Of the staff members at Preakness, 97 have tested positive and 44 have returned to work.
