Creepy Clown Reportedly Spotted Near Wayne School: Police
Police could not find the man allegedly wearing a clown mask and wig. No other sightings have been reported.

WAYNE, N.J. — A woman reported seeing a creepy-looking clown in a wooded area at the Fortis Institute Wednesday night, but police were unable to confirm the clown was actually there.
A woman reporting seeing a man wearing a painted clown face, multi-colored wig, shirt, and jeans, police said. The man was simply standing there with his hands in his pockets; the woman went back inside and told a co-worker, who called police.
Police investigated but were unable to find the alleged man, said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.

"None of us saw it, there was no video of it and nothing to go on other than the person who said they saw it," Martin said. "Nobody else said anything and no other incidents of such a person have been reported."
There have been reports of people wearing "creepy" clown masks throughout the country — including Toms River — putting school district and law enforcement officials on alert. The sightings started in South Carolina and spread to other states.
