WAYNE, N.J. — Dave & Buster's first New Jersey restaurant is slated to open next year, information from the building's owner shows.

It is unknown if Sears, or any other store in the mall, will be open while the renovation work is done.

The township Planning Board approved the project Monday.

Gov. Chris Christie changed a law that last year that permits businesses to hold both a liquor license and license to operate amusement games. A business may hold both permits as long as the facility is at least 20,000 square feet in area and offers at least 100 amusement games. Dave & Buster's easily meets those requirements.

Dave & Buster’s has more than 85 locations across the U.S. and Canada, including several in New York and Pennsylvania.
