Dead Body Found In Burning Car Near Wayne Mall, Officials Say

An investigation by police and the Medical Examiner's Office is underway.

WAYNE, NJ — A dead body was found in a burning car on Tuesday near a mall in Wayne Township, prosecutors said.

On Tuesday morning, police were called to 77 Willowbrook Boulevard, near the Willowbrook Mall, for a reported car fire.

Upon arrival, authorities found a dead person in the blazing car's driver's seat, police said.

The dead individual has yet to be identified, authorities added.

Police say that there are no suspects being investigated at this time, adding that there is no danger to the public.

An investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office is underway to determine the identity of the individual and the cause of death.
