Democrats Sweep Passaic County Freeholder Race

Party retains hold on county government.

Democrats withheld a strong campaign from Republicans to sweep all three seats in the county freeholder race and maintain their hold on the freehold board.

Democrat Cassandra Lazzara received nearly 18 percent of the vote while Hector Lora and John Bartlett each received more than 17.5 percent of the votes cast.

Republicans Joan Walsh, Joseph Cupoli, and Sami Merhi each received between 16 and 14 percent of the votes cast.
