Disability Expo Coming To Wayne Township Soon

The free event connects people with disabilities and their families to programs and services in Passaic County and the surrounding area.

WAYNE, NJ — The Wayne Township Special Needs Commission will host a spring Disability Expo on Saturday, March 14. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wayne Community Center, located at 1 Pike Drive. This event is free and open to the public.

March is recognized as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The Wayne Township Special Needs Commission works to support the goals of this month by connecting individuals with disabilities and their families with various programs, services, and supports. These resources are available throughout Passaic County and the surrounding region.

Organizations that provide services and programs for adults, children, and youth with all types of disabilities have been invited to participate. Caregivers are welcome and encouraged to attend the expo. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with providers, ask questions, and learn about resources tailored to their individual needs.

Following the success of the 2025 Expo, which was one of the largest disability resource events in the region, the 2026 event plans to expand its outreach. The 2025 event featured more than 75 service providers. The 2026 event will continue to increase its representation of available resources.

Wayne Township Mayor Christopher Vergano commented on the event's importance. "The Disability Expo is about connecting people and families with information about the programs and services that are available to them," Vergano said. He added, "Individuals and families are hungry for information; events like the Disability Expo increase families’ access to vendors and service providers that can help make a measurable, positive impact in their lives."
